Holidays

When I used to work at my corporate job I had two main spreadsheets:

  • One to list bank holidays and my days off;
  • And another one to keep track of my traveling budget.

I was more interested in the days I wouldn’t have to work than actually the days I was supposed to. I would count down the days until my next week-end somewhere in Europe or my summer vacation in some exotic destination.

For some time, I thought that it was how life was supposed to be. Because when I looked around, nobody seemed to love their job. And all what people could think of was “when’s the week-end already?” or when their next holidays were.

After 4 years with this mindset though, I realized I just couldn’t keep up that way.

What was the point of having a job if you weren’t enjoying it?

Was it really how life was supposed to be?
